SPECIALITY & PERFORMANCE MATERIALS AND CHEMICALS
DSS CYCLOALIPHATIC AMINES
UNIQUE CROSSLINKING ARCHITECTURES for Blush-Free Aesthetics, Kinetic Control & Toughened Matrices
DSS offers a premier class of ambient and low-bake curing agents characterised by fully saturated,
ring-based aliphatic architectures. Reacting with epoxy resins via nucleophilic addition,
they form densely crosslinked, highly reticulated thermoset networks. Our range of Cycloaliphatic Amines
addresses the critical gap between rapid linear reactivity and robust thermomechanical stability.
From asymmetric liquid monomers for fast curing to sterically hindered dual-ring architectures
for extended pot life, these hardeners give formulators greater control over cure kinetics and matrix
morphology—delivering blemish-free aesthetics and long-term mechanical durability for high-performance applications.

Fully saturated carbon backbones
lack conjugated aromatic chromophores,
inherently arresting photo-oxidative
degradation. This facilitates better
colour stability, less yellowing, and
pristine gloss retention under severe
UV exposure.
Cyclic steric hindrance heavily
inhibits primary amines from reacting
with atmospheric moisture and carbon
dioxide. This virtually eliminates
surface blushing, water spotting,
and exudation in high-humidity or
low-temperature curing environments.
Offers precise control over reactivity
and fluid dynamics. Formulators can leverage
ultra-low viscosity ether-diamines for zero-VOC
vacuum infusion, or utilise sterically bulky
bridged amines to extend pot life for flawless
air-release in thick-pour castings.
Advanced hybrid architectures, highly
polar ether linkages, and flexible
methylene/ isopropylidene bridges act
as microscopic shock absorbers. This
internally plasticises the matrix,
delivering exceptional fracture
toughness, peel strength, and aggressive
substrate adhesion without involving
external flexibilisers.
Forms tightly crosslinked networks yielding
elevated glass transition temperatures (Tg)
and excellent compressive strength. Scaling
up to dense trifunctional star-networks,
the matrix creates an impenetrable barrier
against aggressive organic solvents, alkalis,
and corrosive inorganic reagents.
Free of restricted aromatic amines and volatile
diluents. Inherently low vapor pressure and
saturated ring architectures minimize inhalation
risks and VOC emissions during large-scale
processing, ensuring a safer handling profile
and seamless compliance with stringent global
environmental regulations.
